San Antonio, TX. November 1, 2016–

San Antonio Aquarium, working with non-profit Walk In My Shoes, will help people “get back on their feet” this holiday season. New or gently used shoes will be exchanged for either free or half-price aquarium admission. Donations are encouraged November 1 through December 15, 2016.

San Antonio Aquarium has a passion for helping the local community and participates in various drives to help the community each year. Blood drives, winter clothing drives, food drives and scholarship campaigns have all served the community well each year. This holiday season they will be collecting shoes to benefit Haven for Hope of Bexar County.

San Antonio social philanthropist, Eric Castillo, has a passion for helping those in need and works to help people get back on their feet, quite literally. Castillo is the founder of San Antonio based nonprofit, A Walk In My Shoes, whose sole mission is to help those in need of shoes “get back on their feet”.

Castillo and his team recently collected 1,762 new and gently used shoes to help flood victims in Louisiana.

The San Antonio community has shown tremendous support for the non-profit in the last 5 years. A Walk In My Shoes has donated over 15,500 pairs of shoes to homeless shelters and organizations around San Antonio including Haven for Hope, Boys & Girls Clubs of San Antonio, Dress for Success, SAMMinistries and provides for local individuals on the streets.

New or gently used shoe donations can be dropped off Sunday-Thursday 10am-7pm and Friday-Saturday 10am-8pm at the San Antonio Aquarium 6320 Bandera Rd. San Antonio, TX. All sizes and styles of shoes are welcome. Donations can be made November 1 through December 15, 2016. The aquarium will exchange a FREE admission pass for every new pair of shoes donated and a HALF-OFF admission pass for every pair of gently used shoes.

About A Walk in My Shoes:
“A WALK IN MY SHOES” is a charity whose sole purpose is to help those in need of shoes get back on their feet. What once was only a vision is now reality. A WALK IN MY SHOES was started in August of 2012 by Eric Castillo, a former student athlete at the University of the Incarnate Word. He saw the need and combined it with his passion to help others and began what is now an amazing organization that helps those in need to get back on their feet. We strive to make a difference and realize that every pair of shoes can impact a life. We encourage you to help spread the word for this worthwhile cause. Monthly Shoe Drives are held to gather donations and pick-ups are also arranged to get shoes. Your support is greatly appreciated and volunteers are welcome. Eric Castillo-Founder 210-833-8786.
